Coda Healing Circle: Identity, Healing & Connection

CODA Healing Circles are 90-minute online sessions designed specifically for Children of Deaf Adults (Codas) who want to explore, heal, and connect. These circles provide a safe, supportive space for Codas to process the unique challenges of growing up between Deaf and hearing worlds. Participants will go in depth on the following topics: 1. Coda Brain Explore the Coda brain: how growing up with Deaf parents shapes thinking, emotional processing, and relationships. Learn to understand your unique experiences and gain insights into self-awareness and emotional regulation. 2. Childhood Trauma Symptoms Identify childhood trauma patterns in Codas, including emotional neglect, over-responsibility, and codependency. Discover trauma-informed strategies to heal emotional wounds, improve emotional regulation, and strengthen self-care. 3. Legacy Burdens Understand legacy burdens—emotional patterns and family roles passed down through generations. Explore how to break free from inherited roles, transform old patterns, and create healthier relationships and emotional balance. 4. Types of Therapy for Codas Learn about EMDR, IFS, DBT, and Somatic Experiencing. Discover which therapy approaches may best suit your healing journey, empowering you to make informed choices and access tools for emotional growth. 5. Coda Identity and Self-Discovery Embrace your Coda identity and navigate the balance between Deaf and hearing worlds. Reflect on personal experiences, engage in identity mapping, and explore ways to honor your authentic self while fostering self-acceptance. 6. Building Healthy Boundaries and Relationships Develop skills to set healthy boundaries with family and others. Learn practical tools to assert your needs, maintain emotional well-being, and create balanced, respectful, and fulfilling relationships. All sessions are online and include post-session resources for continued reflection and growth.
